Airfinance Journal is closing the door to nominations today for its 2016 Deals of the Year awards.
Please submit nominations for the Airline Treasury Team of the Year, Leasing Treasury Team of the Year, Aviation Woman of the Year, Aviation Young Person of the Year and Lifetime Achievement here.

The winners will be announced at Airfinance Journal’s Deals of the Year Awards Dinner to be held in New York on 17 May.
Changes ahead
We have talked to many in the market about the format and are pleased to announce some significant changes to our awards, which are the longest running in the industry and remain the most prestigious.
First, we are happy to announce that the following senior aviation finance executives have agreed to form the judging panel for this year: Bertrand Grabowski (former board member and head of aircraft finance at DVB), Jeff Knittel (president CIT Transportation & International Finance) and Norm Liu (former CEO and chairman of GECAS).
This will offer obvious independence and substance to the judging process. The judges will not vote in categories in which their former employers are nominated. Second, we are reducing the number of deal awards significantly, so that the value and prestige of the awards is maintained. Any “regional” awards will be presented at events in those regions. Third, we are introducing new categories of awards, including the Aviation Woman of the Year and Aviation Young Person of the Year.

Sale/leaseback Deal of the Year
Operating lease Deal of the Year
Export Credit Deal of the Year
Capital Markets Deal of the Year
Equity Deal of the Year
M&A Deal of the Year
The Overall Deal of the Year, Innovative Deal of the Year and Editor's Deal of the Year will be selected from the nominations for the above categories.
The criteria for these awards will include innovation, timing, size, complexity, success in overcoming obstacles and whether the deal set a new market standard. In the case of the Aviation Woman of the Year, we are looking to celebrate a woman candidate who has shown commitment to the world of aviation through leadership and innovation, and who continues to break down barriers, creating new possibilities for women in the sector.
We will also be awarding the “Most Improved Airline of the Year”, based on The Airline Analyst's data findings.
