Investec has provided senior financing of over $100 million to Airborne Capital.

The senior debt facility was secured against a portfolio of “five young narrowbody aircraft”.

Each aircraft has a different lessee, including a mix of flag carriers and low-cost carriers, and the financing is structured to cater to specific lease extension options while addressing the maintenance contributions and end-of-lease return obligations.

The facility also included an aspect of off-lease aircraft financing.

Investec said the transaction reflects its ability to structure loans creatively to meet the complex needs of the aviation industry.
