French carrier Air France has sent request for proposals for the financing of four new Airbus deliveries due next year.
The initial lease term will be for a duration of up to 12 years, but like in previous sale and leaseback financings, the parties will be granted two extensions of one year per aircraft.
Air France has specified that lessor offers not be based on Balthazar-type financing for the aircraft nor on Canadian Export Credit financing, according to one source.
Another RFP, covering two A350-900s, is also under the same terms: 12 years leases with the possibility to extend by a maximum of two years. The A350-900s are planned for delivery in January 2025.
The carrier is targeting early July to complete the financing. Offers are to be received by 20 May and it plans to shortlist by early June.
