SunExpress has closed its first Japanese operating lease with call option (Jolco) to finance a new 737-800. The airline closed the 10-year, Euro-denominated deal this week after mandating banks in May. The banks on the deal are Commerzbank, Standard Chartered and Yamasa. The airline mandated the banks to finance two aircraft under the deal. The second aircraft is scheduled for delivery on July 14.
Gide is representing SunExpress and Clifford Chance is representing the banks. In May this year, the airline outlined its financing plan for 12 737-800s delivering between June 2015 and June 2016. This week’s delivery is the first aircraft to be financed under the plan.
