PIA | Wet lease | 02-17 | 2x737-800

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has become the first national airline to fly Boeing 737-800 aircraft. PIA operated the two short to medium range, narrowbody jets. “The two Boeing 737-800 aircraft obtained by PIA on wet lease from a Turkish operator in January 2017 are being put into operation,” the national flag carrier said in a statement. “No other airline in Pakistan is currently using this aircraft,” it added.
Talking to Dawn, PIA spokesperson Danyal Gilani said the aircraft had been obtained for a period of three months and two more similar aircraft were expected to join the airline’s fleet in the coming weeks.
