American Airlines has closed a Japanese Operating Lease with Call Option (Jolco) for one of its new A321 aircraft.
Crédit Agricole CIB (CA-CIB) structured and arranged the transaction, which is the first time a US carrier has used a Jolco to finance aircraft.
CA-CIB placed the equity with one of its corporate clients and provided a loan out of its Tokyo branch to support the transaction.
American Airlines was represented by Debevoise & Plimpton and CA-CIB was represented by Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman.
White & Case Tokyo acted for the lessor.
