Kuwait Airways (KAC) will operate four new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft under a 12-year sale-and-leaseback deal with ALAFCO. The airline says it chose the Kuwait-based lessor after sending a request for proposals to seven parties.
One of the new aircraft has already arrived in Kuwait, with Boeing set to deliver the remaining three over the summer.
Kuwaiti banks will provide most of the financing for the aircraft, says Ahmad Alzabin, chief executive officer of ALAFCO.
