In July 2017, DVB closed a refinancing of 2x A320s and 1x A319 with Avianca: the airline operated the aircraft since their initial delivery (2009-2010) and they remain core to Avianca’s operations. With the maturity of the original loan coming to sight, DVB offered to refinance the package of 3 aircraft, thereby increasing leverage and extending the initial maturity of the loans. This was an efficient way for Avianca to generate additional cash from financing without the necessity of pledging new assets. DVB used Vedder Price as counsel and Avianca used White & Case
